Yeah, and? MS have sold 11.2 million in their last 4 quarters what does this prove? Does it make you feel all warm and bubbly to predict the demise of one of the companies involved in the industry we love? Pathetic.

And a lol at people criticising for MS for giving shipped numbers - every company does it - in business thats how sales are recorded! If you take Nintendo/Sony's numbers as sold and then criticise sites like vgchartz when it is infact you who does not know what your talking about well its your own fault.

The 2 examples you gave are not flops so are poor. Focusing on Madworld it already has close to 200K sold ater a couple of weeks so it is not a flop - who knows where it could end up.

I answered your previous post. I still stand by the fact Nintendo has the majority of the market whether or not you insist on including the ps2 and excluding the GC/xbox.
If you want me to be specific the wii has 66% of the market between it the ps3 and the 360.
they want the market that Nintendo has so if they focus on attracting it then they will be very successful indeed. I am not sure how they would go about though becuase its the ease of access of the wii and the phenomenon of the name itself that is driving its success. Perhaps butterfinger is right and some form of motion may well be coming.

A lot of titles bombed? Really? I doubt you could name alot of titles that bombed and if you could I could name as many on the 360/ps3 tbh. Misplaced hate is so sad to see, the wii hasn't hurt you.
I think excluding the GC and Xbox but not the ps2 would be a very poor way of looking at things. As you freely admit all 3 last gen consoles will have been played and just because the ps2 is being played more does not mean we should add 136 million sales to sony. Thats silly but I know where your coming from.
The problem with this lies in the way I (and how most people) count overall marketshare -overall sales. Perhaps if you want to calculate Sony's current share of the market...
Last Gen:
PS2: 136 million = 75% marketshare
Xbox:24 million = 13%
GC: 21 million = 12%
PS3: 21 million = 21%
360: 29 million = 29%
Wii: 50 million = 50%
You have a good point about it being Nintendo taking away Sony's marketshare because aftrall the 360 hasn't lit up sales like the ps2 or wii did but it has still has taken away significant share - 16 of the 54% that Sony has lost.

@deep - Obviously Aus isn't in Europe but because its a PAL region the big 3 sometimes include it in Europe's numbers. Europe is all very confusing.

It puzzles me when people say the wii isn't doing well in Japan. It has the most marketshare of any major market with 66% of the market. And thswithout a pricecut,new versions or colours either. Well done Nintendo. Its all relative I guess.
Looking at it like that you have a very good point. Although I will point out that here in teh UK the ps3 had a record launch obliterating that of the 360. However since then the 360 has consitently, slightly outsold it. Its close but the 360 is on top here until the p3's pricecut.
I'm not arguing your point as its correct all I was origninally trying to portray that me as a consumer would like a price cut. Nothing against Sony of course I don't want them to lose money. But for that I got disagrees and lost a bubble. Sigh, I guess I should just stop asking for one then.

the flaw in your statement is thus. If people cannot afford top of the range tv's sony could market them a cheaper model.
But if people cannot afford a ps3 then the cheaper option is ... the 360 - something I doubt sony would want us to buy.
@above - so now your telling me not to bother wanting a ps3 because it is too financially exclusive for me? I thought its supporters would be more accomodating. My issue is that as I am on a weekly budget it hard to save and...

back in December I called out all the ridiculous anti-ps3 articles as it was obvious they were spreading hate based on overexaggereated NPD figures that merely focused on the 360's strongest market. Happy?
